The Klassik Stiftung Weimar is a non-profit foundation under public law and is one of the most important cultural institutions in Germany. The focus of the Foundation’s collection and work are the Weimar Classics, their aftermath in the art and culture of the 19th century, and Modernism with Friedrich Nietzsche and the Bauhaus. The collections are maintained in the Duchess Anna Amalia Library, the Goethe and Schiller Archives, the museums and the historic buildings and gardens.

The position is initially limited to two years and should then be transferred to permanent employment.

Responsibilities
  • Conception, organization and management of national and international educational projects, academies and further education events

  • Conducting workshops and guided tours in the context of teacher training and educational projects

  • Procurement of third-party funds for pilot projects in the field of cultural education

  • Expansion and consolidation of national and international networks of cultural education

  • Conception and implementation of inclusion and diversity processes for all work areas of the Klassik Foundation

  • Conception and editing of didactic materials

  • Organization of personnel deployment for educational projects and workshops

Requirements
  • Cultural Studies, min. Master’s degree

  • Several years of activity in the fields of cultural education and / or university teaching, preferably at the interface to political education relevant work experience in the field of project management including third party funding

  • Conception and execution of multi-year collaborative projects desirable

  • Sound knowledge of European cultural history from a didactic point of view, ideally with emphasis in the eras around 1800 and around 1900

  • Knowledge of scientific positions in the field of cultural education as well as intercultural education, inclusion and participation is an advantage

  • Interest in the socio-political task of museums and cultural institutions
