Ota House is looking for a full time frame fitter to join our team. For over forty years, we have been creating some of the most bad-ass picture frames for private collectors, art galleries and museums. We design and build each frame in house, with all materials cut by hand, and are dedicated to our attention to detail and craftsmanship. This position involves the final assembly of our frames which requires cutting and optimizing materials and ultimately fitting the artwork into the frames. This position demands a high level of attention to detail. You will be handling artwork and other fragile objects and materials. A successful candidate in this position will have critical thinking and problem solving skills in addition to previous experience and knowledge in handling artworks of all types. Experience using various hand and power tools is also important as is a natural ability to work with your hands. Ultimately our fitters are responsible for making sure our work is the best it can possibly be before leaving our studio. We strive for perfection with every project.
Starting compensation is determined by previous experience and competence level. Benefits are to be discussed in person.
This position requires the following:
Minimum one year relevant work experience
Attention to detail
A natural ability to work with your hands
A desire to problem solve and address design challenges as they arise
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with power tools
Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company policies
Organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
An above average understanding of basic mathematics
Willingness/ability to lift and carry at least 75 pounds
Desire to make a long term commitment - training will be provided.
