Assist Mailroom Clerk in performing all daily mail activities for Woodruff Arts Center to include:

  • Distribute mail and packages (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) that comes in and out of the mailroom.

  • Sort mail by hand

  • Deliver mail across Arts Center campus and make sure the mail is delivered to the right place.

  • Maintain records on the mail that comes in and out

The Mailroom Clerk Assistant should be able to cover mailroom operations during Mailroom Clerk’s absences.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.
Responsibilities
  • Sorts and delivers incoming mail and packages.

  • Collects, weighs and affixes postage to outgoing mail.

  • Maintains appropriate records regarding postage, registered mail, parcels and mail requiring special handling

  • Provides customer problem solving for lost packages, distribution issues, etc.

  • Maintains high productivity and accuracy in an environment where deadlines and quick turnaround are prevalent.

  • Trained on equipment in order to handle key operator functions such as clearing jams, adding toner, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Prior mailroom, package shipping and postage experience preferred

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret addresses on packages, correspondence and mail, and mailroom operating and procedure manuals.

  • The individual must possess the ability to write routine mailroom reports, correspondence, and speak effectively to customers and employees.

Computer Skills:

  • This person should be familiar with word processing, database and spreadsheet software.

  • Must be able to learn postage and mailing software and operate postage machine.

  • Experience working with postage machines.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to perform basic math functions: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
