Account Executive


A&O PR is presently hiring an Account Executive to join the arts and culture team to support a roster of arts and culture clients. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer, competent communicator, passionate storyteller, a mentor to others, and capable of leading creative and strategic campaigns that deliver results.



  • Develop and oversee strategic campaigns for arts and culture clients

  • Create compelling written materials that deliver unique story ideas through campaign pitches, press releases, media backgrounders, and talking points

  • Lead in client and team meetings

  • Prepare agendas and meeting recaps

  • Conduct strategic and thorough media research to help develop story ideas, angles and opportunities that align our client with the current media landscape

  • Proactively pitch and place press

  • Build and maintain updated press lists that demonstrate a strong understanding of the writers and publications covering angles relevant to our clients and their stories

  • Nurture relationships with the media

  • Provide onsite support for client events - occasionally on evenings and weekends and/or out of state/country - with proof of vaccination

  • Manage and oversee successful execution of campaign, tracking client deliverables

  • Participate in business development activities

  • Contribute to effective social media strategies

  • Compile insights and deliver reports that guide strategic decisions and highlight campaign successes

  • Delegate and mentor junior staff

  • Manage workflow, ensuring goals and deadlines are being met



  • Possess 3-5 years of experience in public relations, preferably at an agency, art gallery, or arts institution

  • Excellent writing skills, with strong storytelling skills and versatility in style and tone

  • Has knowledge of the current media landscape. You have a strong sense of what’s newsworthy, an understanding of a wide range of news outlets, and ability to shape a client’s story to secure placement

  • Possess strong relationships with arts, culture, and lifestyle media. You are engaging and professional when interacting with reporters and have existing relationships with the media.

  • Multi-tasks easily. You have the ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to details.

  • Independent and strategic thinker who is self-motivated and passionate about success

  • Has strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Is technically fluent with tools such as Google Suite products, Mailchimp, social media platforms, Microsoft suite and Adobe suite

  • Works well independently and as part of a team, with minimal oversight, is able to listen well, adapt and follow through on all tasks
