Position Description: CURATORIAL is seeking an art handling specialist/driver to join our art transportation and installation team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-4 years of experience in art storage and installation management and/or warehouse management experience. This position requires flexible availability as jobs are subject to change 24 hours in advance.
Company Description: CURATORIAL is an internationally recognized art services company with an established reputation for its work with the worlds top artists, collectors, galleries and museums - including the Smithsonian Institution, MOMA, Musée de l’Elysée and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art - to name a few. CURATORIAL’s all encompassing, museum-standard art services provide preparation and transportation of all artwork, including digital imaging, framing, crating, transport and shipping services.
Location: CURATORIAL headquarters are located at 113 East Union Street, Pasadena, in the heart of Old Town Pasadena. We are close to public transit, and can offer free parking to employees.
Schedule/Pay: Competitive hourly wage based off experience. Monday-Friday with weekend availability. CURATORIAL office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00—5:00.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Handle and move artworks for transport, including wrapping, packing and crating using museum-standard art handling techniques and materials
Install/de-install artworks from an array of locations
Load/unload trucks efficiently and methodically
Perform appropriate customer service as a liaison between clients and company management
Determine strategy for projects in detailed and efficient fashion
Safely operate company vehicles and safely transport artwork to local locations
Maintain compliance with all local, state, DOT, and client regulations
Maintain confidentiality for CURATORIAL clients
Requirements
Qualifications:
Physical Requirements: lifting, moving, heavy objects (in excess of 75 lbs), bending, kneeling, crouching, etc. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Licences & Certifications Required: Must have valid driver’s license.
Ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of appropriate, museum-standard art handling, installation, and transportation techniques and methods
