Mover/Driver with Art Handling Experience

We are seeking talented and driven Truck Driver/Movers to join our organization. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic professional with a flawless attention to detail, excellent communication skills along with the ability to provide world-class service to our exclusive clientele. The ideal candidate must understand exceptional customer service and must have a track-record exuding such understanding. Additionally as part of our “new normal” we have established new health and safety policies that we expect all employees to adhere to which include: daily temperature readings/wellness check, practicing social distancing, frequent hand sanitizing and wearing personal protective gear.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for delivering, receiving and transporting furniture, artwork and other merchandise to residential and commercial locations; airports, seaports or rail ports. The primary responsibility is to prepare artworks, antiques, and fine furniture for both domestic and international transport. Ideal candidates should have a solid understanding of industry standards when it comes to packing, crating, and all matters of handling fine art and objects. Constant understanding that you are the face of the company and remaining keenly aware that customer service is a top priority is required! Strong commitment to the philosophy and goals of the company is important. Must be available for a flexible schedule which may including some nights and weekends.

Essential Functions:

Preparation, Packing, Crating and Storing artworks, objects, and antiques

Complete all paperwork (collections, deliveries, releases and other inventory related paperwork, including detailed condition reporting).

  • Drives truck (NON-CDL) with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo, materials, furniture or art work.

  • Maintains radio or telephone contact with base supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.

  • Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.

  • Obeys all traffic regulations from City, State and Federal Laws.

  • Keeps record of materials and products transported.

  • Position blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo for transport. •Cleans, inspects and services vehicle. •Operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials. •Obtains customer signature or collects payment for goods delivered and delivery charges if needed.

  • Assists in loading and unloading truck manually.

  • Other duties assigned by management.

Requirements
  • Ability to work in a changing environment

  • Experience working as an art handler

  • Knowledge of art handling techniques (packing, installation, shipping, etc..)

  • Truck Driving experience and clean driving record

  • Ability to interface with clients and present oneself professionally
