You must be a fast-learner, self-starter, and meticulously organized multi-tasker who strives in a fast-paced environment and has excellent interpersonal skills. This role will wear a lot of hats and be the point person at the gallery, assisting the director/curator. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the art world, galleries, and art handling. Hours depend on exhibition schedule and pay starts at $22/hr and is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
  • coordinating installations, shipping, special events

  • assisting in planning and coordinating exhibitions

  • hanging artwork

  • shipping artwork

  • maintaining relationships with collectors and emailing sales pdfs

  • sending invoices to collectors and maintaining inventory documents

  • developing and cultivating new collectors

  • maintaining relationships with press and sending media kits

  • marketing, social media posts, writing press releases

  • organizing and cleaning gallery

Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in sales or arts-related field

  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about contemporary art

  • Experience hanging and shipping artwork

  • Solid administrative and organizational skills with great attention to detail.

  • Strong and clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment alone, and as part of a team, while taking on simultaneous projects. -Must be comfortable using Google Docs, and Photoshop.
