Assistant Galleries Coordinator

University of Dayton Department of Art and Design

The Assistant Galleries Coordinator will work with the Galleries Coordinator, managing and coordinating exhibitions, documentation, art installation and handling, managing events at University of Dayton Galleries both on campus and at The Dayton Arcade.

  1. Assisting with installation of exhibitions

  2. Documenting exhibitions

  3. Assisting with cataloging and organizing exhibition archive

  4. Assisting with social media accounts and distribution of promotional materials

  5. Oversee set-up and clean-up of public receptions.

  6. Support Art and Design faculty and students with exhibitions and special events.


Minimum Qualifications:

1.Associate’s Degree in arts related field

2.Proficient and safe use of basic hand tools (hammers, paint rollers, screw drivers, ladders, levels and measuring devices)

3.Interest and engagement in art exhibitions and gallery operations

4.Interest in engaging with the public

5.Familiarity with Apple computers and software

6.Use of Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace software

7.Basic DSLR knowledge

8.Good organization, communication, and time management skills

9.Desire to work as part of a team to set and achieve project goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. BA or BFA in Arts related field

2.Experience in gallery related activities

3.Familiarity and knowledge of how to use Adobe CC

4.Basic Video editing skills

5.Demonstrated record of self initiated projects and ability to work with minimal supervision

6.Proficient and safe use of basic power tools (drills, saws, nailers, etc)

7.Innovative thinking and problem solving skills

8.Eligible to become University of Dayton driver certified
