Represent ICA’s Dietrich Director in person, online, in written and telephone communication, and manage Director’s schedule. Staff the Director. Assist with development and maintenance of relationships with internal and external stakeholders incl. major donors, board of overseers, Provost’s and President’s Offices, horizontal UPENN colleagues, faculty, artists, community and campus partners, as well as 26-person ICA staff, rotating interns, students, and visitors. Undertake Director’s special projects as needed incl. speech writing, research, copy editing, museum staff events, and helping to organize and track the museum’s strategic planning process and updates. Prep for and work at ICA public events, programs, and meetings as needed. Assist senior staff and all communications between Director’s Office and Curatorial, Curatorial Affairs, Marketing, Development, Public Engagement, and Administrative departments. Make travel arrangements, keep calendar of, and reconcile travel/entertainment receipts and prepare reimbursements for Director and, at times, the Development Director. Manage ICA’s work-study and internship program through recruitment, retention, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

ICA seeks a detail-oriented, professional multitasker with excellent communication and superior problem-solving skills to assist busy director of world-renowned kunsthalle working towards curatorial excellence, increased invitations to campus and community partners, and to exceeding expectations of artists and audiences. Must be available to work some nights and weekends. May involve travel. Interest and background in contemporary art, performance, writing, music, film, or theory a plus.
