Assist with the design, production, and coordination of engaging and cohesive Phillips communications. This includes working with the Head of Editorial & Design Services to ensure that all print/digital institutional communications follow brand guidelines and institutional voice; managing the Phillips’s social media channels under the direction of the Manager of Marketing and Partnerships; and managing the Phillips’s e-communications across departments, including working with the Memberships Manager on membership cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship e-communications. The Design & Digital Communications Manager participates in strategic planning and evaluation for institutional communications, and helps the Membership, Development, and Marketing & Communications teams as needed.
Work with Marketing and Communications team to develop a robust strategy for general Phillips communications
Work with Head of Editorial and Design Services to create print/digital graphics/collateral for the institution, exhibitions, events, in-gallery activities, publications, and more
Work with Manager of Marketing and Partnerships to develop and manage a robust social media presence and cohesive voice across all Phillips platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
Establish consistent tracking system to evaluate efforts and make necessary improvements for social media channels
Assist the Membership Manager to develop and maintain a robust communications strategy associated with successfully operating the General Membership Program, as well as with development staff on communications for fundraising efforts
Work across departments to gather and produce content for member e-newsletters, stewardship e-mails, and print/digital collateral
Manage institutional e-communications calendar
Track and evaluate e-communications performance (including open, click through, and other analytics) and makes recommendations for growth and improvement
Work with Audio/Visual team and contractors to create multimedia assets for the museum, exhibitions, and events
Assist with projects related to member, donor, and visitor cultivation, including staffing events
Develop and maintain relationship with vendors and agencies including direct mail, printers, digital marketing, etc.
Serve as primary contact for iContact vendor, ensuring best practice for all e-communications
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
1-3 years of experience working in design, marketing/communications, or membership/development for non-profits
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
Proficiency in use of major social media platforms
Accuracy, patience, and careful attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work within tight schedules and a fast-paced environment
Experience with digital marketing tools such as iContact preferred
Experience with donor database such as Altru preferred
Experience with HTML is a plus
Knowledge and interest in the arts is a plus
