The position is responsible for strategy, coordination, and management of technology infrastructure for the College of the Arts (COTA) including its four schools (Architecture, Art + Design, Film, Music & Theater). This includes labs, high-tech classrooms, A/V equipment checkout and other areas in need of specific technical support.

Responsibilities

Assist areas in need of specific technical support on a project availability basis. The College’s growth and its specialized needs, curriculum, and facilities make coordination essential. Evolution in classroom technology make short- and long-term planning and budgeting necessary.

40 hours/week ; schedule to be determined.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified course work in applicable fields of study and at least one year of related work experience.

  • Three to five years experience managing digital labs in a higher education settings.

  • Experience with computer systems management, including operating system and application configuration, optimization, troubleshooting, and automation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to listen, document, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with both technical and non-technical users and management personnel.

  • Proven experience managing projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with a minimum of supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating, maintaining and troubleshooting wide format printers.

  • Experience operating, maintaining and troubleshooting 3D printers, laser cutters and 3D routers.

  • Experience with DSLR cameras and digital film making.

  • Experience with digital audio production techniques, software and tools.

  • Experience in an academic setting and its applications, processes and services.

  • Proven experience managing projects.

  • Extensive experience with Adobe CC, Rhino 5, AutoCAD, Logic.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SCCM and/or Capser management tools.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement

The starting annual salary rate for this position will be between $59,000 and $62,000. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however, it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. PSU’s excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities
