Judd Foundation was created in 1996 with the mission to maintain and preserve Donald Judd’s permanently installed living and working spaces, libraries, and archives in Marfa, Texas and New York. The Foundation promotes a wider understanding of Judd’s artistic legacy by providing access to these spaces and resources and by developing scholarly and educational programs. The Foundation is a 501 ©(3) non-profit organization.

Position

The Development and Events Assistant is an integral member of the Judd Foundation Development team. The person in this position will be the primary user of the Foundation’s donor database (Raiser’s Edge), and be will responsible for donor tracking, gifts management, and coordinating the Foundation’s Patron and Membership programs.

Additionally, the Development and Events Assistant will serve as the departmental administrator and will assist with planning and execution of all Judd Foundation events, including the Foundation’s annual Benefit Dinner, Patron cultivation events, New York programs, and donor visits. They will be responsible for mailings and donor correspondence including the Annual Appeal, as well as prospect research and preparation of decks and sponsorship materials, in addition to other duties as appropriate to the skills and interests of the individual. This position reports to the Director of Development and has significant interaction with Judd Foundation Board members and key stakeholders. This position is full-time at Judd Foundation’s 101 Spring Street office.

Responsibilities

The duties of the Development and Events Assistant include:

General Administration and Database Support

  • Manage Judd Foundation’s donor database and all necessary updates (creation of mailing lists; OvationTix visitors, membership and donations imports);

  • Oversee gift processing with Finance department and ensure acknowledgement letters are sent to Judd Foundation donors;

  • Research donors as necessary and track updates in Raiser’s Edge;

  • Create monthly donor reports for Finance department.

Event Support

  • Assist with all Judd Foundation events, working closely with the Manager of Visitor Services and Events;

  • Track RSVPs and assist with follow-up calls to invitees;

  • Research giving information for potential event attendees and create check-in lists;

  • Welcome donors and lead VIP visits through 101 Spring Street as necessary.

Board and Patron Stewardship

  • Work with Director of Development to create quarterly board reports and assist in all Development Committee meetings;

  • Create sponsorship materials in collaboration with Institutional Development Manager and Director of Development;

  • With Director of Development, create correspondence, including monthly emails, to Judd Foundation Patrons and Members;

  • Act as point person for Judd Foundation’s Annual Appeal mailing.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Competitive candidates will have at least 1-3 years relevant work experience and an interest in art and design.

Additional Qualifications include:

  • BA degree in related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat

  • Raiser’s Edge or other database management experience a plus

  • Adobe Photoshop, InDesign experience a plus

  • Skilled writer with high level of attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to perform research

Salary and Hiring

This position is full-time at 40 hours per week with competitive benefits. The salary range for the position is $45,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience.
