Berggruen Gallery is seeking a highly professional and reliable person as an Executive/Personal Assistant to the Gallery Owner. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work in a cultural, creative, and challenging environment in the art business.
The ideal candidate for this position has executive assistant experience, possesses excellent organizational skills, is highly motivated, and excels in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be willing to assist the gallery owner as both an executive assistant and a personal assistant on many levels. The ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and handle pressure is necessary. The candidate must be detail-oriented, discreet, diplomatic, dependable, proactive, mature, and a team player.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Calendar and appointment management
Travel arrangements
Creating a system of prompts with daily reminders, and follow-through to-do lists.
Assisting with client and artist communication
Organizing gallery and home events
General research
Special projects, and other clerical and administrative work.
BA Degree Required
2-3 years of personal or executive experience
1-2 years of experience within an office, gallery, auction house, or museum setting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and have excellent proofreading skills, able to prioritize tasks as needed
A can-do attitude with energy and a positive approach is required. Excellent planning and logistics skills.
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
A willingness to work long hours with flexibility to allow for periodic long workdays and to support the gallery’s special events, which generally occur after work hours.
