ThePackengers New York is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented fine art packer and handler to join our team. The fine art packer will be responsible for securely packing and handling valuable artworks, ensuring their safe transportation and delivery. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a strong understanding of packing techniques specific to fine art.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
Job duties required but not limited to:
Safely pack and handle fine art pieces, including paintings, sculptures, prints, and delicate objects.
Utilize appropriate packing materials and techniques to ensure the protection of artworks during transportation.
Collaborate with other team members to coordinate packing schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Inspect artworks for any pre-existing damage and document their condition prior to packing.
Adhere to industry standards and best practices for handling and packing fine art.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent damage to artworks and packing materials.
3-5 years experience as a fine art packer / art handler .
Proven experience in fine art packing, preferably in a gallery, museum, or fine art logistics company.
Strong knowledge of different types of fine art materials and their handling requirements.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical stamina and ability to lift objects.
Familiarity with packing materials and equipment used in the fine art industry.
Punctuality, effective communication and clear/legible handwriting.
