RAA are looking to hire a midweight graphic designer to join our busy London design studio.

We are planners, designers and producers of award-winning museums, cultural destinations and learning environments worldwide. Founded in New York in 1978 and expanding to London in 2000, RAA has 43 years’ experience working internationally. With offices in New York, London, Berlin, Beijing and Dubai, RAA has an interdisciplinary staff of over 160 designers, architects, writers, historians, researchers, artists and media specialists. RAA’s portfolio includes some 400 permanent and temporary exhibitions, 375 commissions in interpretive and institutional planning, consultation and branding, and over 60 active projects currently in development.

The ideal candidate should be highly creative, self-motivated, and organised, able to work proactively under their own initiative or collaboratively as part of a team. You should have a strong knowledge of evolving trends in culture and design, particularly in regard to the museums and heritage sector. An ability to think conceptually, a love for high quality design and a genuine interest in the heritage industry is essential.

As a midweight designer you will work closely with our design director and members of the wider design team including 3D designers, media designers and content developers.

Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a team to design and deliver all aspects of visual communication, across multiple projects

  • Supporting the marketing team to create project-winning pitch material

  • Helping to prepare stage-end deliverables

  • Preparing artwork for print

Requirements

Skills & Experience:

  • 4+ years experience working within a creative agency or design studio

  • Able to work to strict deadlines and deliver strong concept-driven work

  • A keen interest in cultural and heritage sector projects

Essential:

  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Able to work proactively under own initiative or as part of the wider team

  • Experience in print or editorial design

  • Good knowledge of design and production processes

Desirable:

  • Experience in designing for narrative environments

  • Art direction experience

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
