Trueing is a boutique lighting design studio based in Long Island City, NY — with a focus on beautifully constructed, hand-built fixtures. We are a close-knit and growing team, looking for a detail-oriented business development assistant to join our ranks. This position would be perfect for a natural-born people person: an individual who loves discussing the minutiae of design with clients, all while keeping our office tidy, the sample library organized and acting in the role of Trueing ‘evangelist’ as a client’s first contact with the studio.
Summary:
The role of business development assistant primarily deals with attending to the needs of our clients during the pre-sale process (assisting with information, providing estimates, samples, etc.) — as well as post-sales customer service. There will be light housekeeping duties involved (dusting, tidying) and front-office responsibilities including answering the phone and assisting the founding partner with meetings.
Duties:
Making customer estimates
Keeping accurate records of samples and other office systems
Office organization
Answering office phone
Customer correspondence
We seek a person who:
Feels that no task is too little or too great
Is organized, structured, and detail-oriented with a positive can-do attitude
Has a professional presence and nurturing demeanor
Is a good colleague and a team-player
Is understanding that multi-tasking may be required from time-to-time
Demonstrates responsibility, self-awareness, and a good work ethic
Is proactive and completes tasks with a sense of urgency
Has excellent interpersonal skills
Is a natural people-person who enjoys a busy and creative environment
Is extraordinarily service minded, positive, and trustworthy
Desired Experience:
Experience working in an external-facing role is a must — this can be anything from waiting tables to account management; all customer-service related experience is relevant for this role. Firstly, the business development assistant must be service-minded. Experience working in high-end design is not required, but an interest in art and design is essential.
Please email aiden@trueing.com with your resume, 2-3 references, and a brief letter telling us about yourself and your relevant experience. A trial period of 3 months is required to ensure a good fit for you and for us.
Trueing is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and take affirmative action to employ equally regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or veteran status.
