Wiseman Studio is a busy multi-faceted artist studio located in Frogtown. Working across bronze, ceramic, and other various mediums, the studio creates intricate site-specific installations, furniture, lighting fixtures, and objects. The studio is looking to expand its small team of dedicated team of artisans and artists.
Assist with archiving photos, drawings, and press
Update database of inventory and contacts, organize physical inventory of works
Assist with shipping, including scheduling mailings, couriers, and returns
Basic art handling
Create shipping documents and maintain logs, as well as other cataloging systems for molds and objects
General studio errands such as tracking and replenishing studio inventory
Assist with photoshoot days, including set-up, breakdown, etc.
Organize studio space and maintain systems and workstations
Order and maintain stock of art materials and supplies
Research and source parts and equipment
Light assistance with wax working, ceramics, general assembly, and other assistance with creating and assembling artworks
1-2 years of experience working in an artist’s studio, gallery, museum, arts nonprofit, etc.
Experience with metal work, ceramics, or other mediums a plus, but not required
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to drive to vendors and suppliers in the area (mileage is reimbursable)
Understanding of general hardware store items, fittings, and fixtures
Organized and detail oriented
Experience with Adobe programs (Photoshop, Indesign, Acrobat)
Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities, capable of reprioritizing on a moment’s notice
Able to think ahead and anticipate needs
Be a team player
Must love dogs
Positive, good sense of humor
Full time position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience. Trial period of 90 days.
Studio hours: Monday through Friday, 10 am – 6 pm
