Tuesday – Saturday (Full-time, non-exempt)

David Kordansky Gallery seeks a highly motivated, extremely organized, and team-oriented individual to fill the position of Sales Administrator to the sales team. The Sales Administrator is a critical role within the sales department, responsible for supporting a range of significant and critical functions of the sales team, including the creation of sales materials and managing auctions and appraisals. This position is a full-time role, Tuesday through Saturday, and may require flexibility for additional hours based on the needs of the gallery.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Assemble, design, and update the presentation of sales information (PDFs) for the sales team

  • Track and monitor works at auction by gallery artists

  • Research and draft valuations and facilitate the appraisal process

  • Compile accurate information for the execution of sales invoicing

  • Schedule meetings, client visits, studio visits, private viewings, and other events on behalf of the sales team

  • Book group travel, hotels, and restaurant reservations for the sales team

  • Manage and regularly update client contact lists and databases

  • Serve as a public-facing representative of the gallery, communicating with visitors, artists, and collectors

  • General office administration, including answering phones, sorting correspondence, and running errands



  • Knowledge of contemporary art, art institutions, art fairs, and the art market required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art History or related field required

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as an assistant, administrator, or related position required; four (4) years preferred

  • Knowledge of artwork auction research, bidding, and pricing required

  • Experience working at a contemporary art gallery or auction house preferred

  • Familiarity with artwork valuation and appraisals preferred

  • Excellent computer and technological skills required, including: Google Suite; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign, and Photoshop)

  • Basic knowledge of databases such as ArtBase, FileMaker, ArtBinder, and/or Arternal preferred

  • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator

  • Able to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Extremely self-motivated, responsible, and efficient

  • Adept at creative problem-solving

  • Fluent in English
