Minnesota Street Project is currently seeking a contracted Visitor Services associate, with expert customer service skills to join our team of arts professionals. The Visitor Services associate will report to the Director of Programming and Public Engagement. The purpose of this role is to provide support for the Project’s main building and providing visitors with information about the Minnesota Street Project campus, liaison to tenant and temporary galleries. This position is one day a week, Saturday, from 10 until 6 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Greeting visitors as they enter the building on Saturdays

  • Liaison to the galleries

  • Provide Saturday visitors with detailed information about the Project, the campus, specifics about the galleries involved, their current and upcoming exhibitions. As needed, alert visitors to galleries might be of particular interest based on their questions. Maintain a complete working knowledge of the Project Campus for informational purposes, including Art services, artist studios, both gallery buildings, the MSP foundation, and its extended programming.

  • Partnering with security at front desk to watch the front desk during their lunch hours and breaks

  • Manage Saturday outgoing mail and Releasing packages

  • Upon arrival, monitor media Galleries to check operational status of time-based works.

  • Assist Director of Facilities and Gallery Director with ad-hoc tasks

  • Keep front desk and reception area clean and up to date with COVID-19 safety standards

  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements
  • 0-1+ years of experience with customer service

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Comfortable with client-facing interaction and public speaking to diverse audiences

  • Demonstrated written and spoken communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate both internally and externally

  • Fluency on multiple computer and web-based platforms including MAC OS X, Microsoft Office

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, the ability to multi-task, and be flexible

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and provide physical support as needed

  • Sense of humor
