A Brooklyn-based studio of an internationally exhibited contemporary artist is seeking an experienced digital imaging candidate to join an active team. The Imaging Associate will work on the production and development of screen printed artworks in conjunction with large-scale exhibitions and projects.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the fine arts or proven digital imaging experience in another industry. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is required, specifically a demonstrated ability to expertly use Photoshop as a production tool.

The candidate will see the entire artwork production process through from the creation of imaging files to inspections of final artworks. A sensitive eye for detail and the artistic process is important, as well as confidence in translating painted imagery from the physical to digital space. The Imaging Associate will be precise, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and efficient. Strong written, organizational, and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create printmaking files and other working materials for the artist and outside fabricators using Photoshop in an expert capacity.

  • Research and develop production processes related to digital imaging and printmaking, while supervising quality control and maintaining best practices for third parties.

  • Retouch artwork and exhibition documentation for external and internal use.

  • Inspect physical artwork and uphold studio quality standards.

  • Produce artwork inspection reports as necessary.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in the creation of digital imaging files.

  • Previous knowledge of digital preparation of screen printing files.

  • Expert level fluency in Photoshop.

  • Demonstrated responsibility for the management and organization of files.

  • Proven ability to develop unique and efficient digital imaging processes and workflows.

  • Experience or interest in fine art printmaking techniques.

  • Strong time and project management skills.

  • A professional, proactive, and motivated attitude.
