Position Overview:

This position is responsible for all content management with both Mendola Artists and Rapp Art to keep our illustrators’ portfolios up to date and promote their projects on our social media platforms. Primary day to day responsibilities include social media management, website management, and invoicing. We encourage creativity in this role; previous people have created a mini podcast series, art directed our annual catalog, and project managed our website redesign. With our new websites launching this summer and our social media presence growing, we are looking for a candidate to take our social media marketing to the next level.

We represent over 200 illustrators and animators around the world between our two groups: Mendola Artists, and Rapp Art., We work with the nation’s biggest editorial publications, advertising agencies, corporations, and publishing houses, as well as smaller, independent clients to bring illustration and animation projects to life.

Select client list: The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, Rolling Stone Magazine, Deloitte, Facebook, Google, Adobe, PepsiCo, Hasbro, Fisher Price, Simon & Schuster, Penguin Random House…

  1. Social Media & Portfolio Responsibilities:
  • Share our illustrators’ content and create original content for our social media

  • Turn our social media into traffic-driving channels: create content that brings art directors, art producers, and other clients to our website

  • Manage the backend of Mendola Artists and Rapp Art’s websites: update illustrators portfolios, add project posts featuring recent work, and write blog posts

  • Update illustrators portfolios on portfolio websites like TheIspot, Workbook and Directory of Illustration.

  • Design digital and print ad layouts in Photoshop

  1. Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Invoicing: use Quickbooks to invoice projects for two agents

  • Collections: follow up with clients regarding outstanding invoices

  • Office Organization: answer phone calls, order office supplies, sort mail, ship packages

  1. Your skills:
  • Demonstrable social media marketing experience

  • Excellent English communication skills - verbal and written

  • Experience with the backend of a website, preferably Wordpress

  • Experience with Photoshop preferred

  • Experience with Google Analytics preferred

  • Experience with Quickbooks is a plus

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to project manage

  • Ability to work independently and team spirit

  • Appreciation for the world of illustration
