Prominent Art Studio is seeking a studio assistant for full time position.

This position reports to the Studio Manager in facilitating painting production. This includes the preparation and planning around the artist’s practice.

This position is 5 days a week, Tues-Sat 9a-6p. Must be flexible to work outside of these hours when necessary.

Studio provides paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave. Benefits provided and 401K after one year.

Hourly wage commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Studio tasks: mixing paint, handling and installation of artwork, cleaning, and preparation of studio, preparing surfaces.

General tasks: cleaning, organizing materials, ordering supplies, basic documentation and filing of images, regular organizing of storage.

Basic maintenance: sweeping, trash, painting walls, etc.

Requirements

Desired skills:

Basic painting, photography, computer skills, required
Must be able to work with Apple products. Photoshop experience preferred.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
Must live in Los Angeles, have a working car and valid driver’s license.

Desired attributes:

Positive attitude, teamwork oriented, detail oriented, good communication skills a must. Hard working, self-starter, and conscientious.
Must be able to handle change of pace, ie working independently and methodically as well as working towards pressing deadlines as part of a dynamic team.
Willingness to pitch in anywhere and be cognizant of others.
