The Studio of Tabitha Soren

The Studio of Tabitha Soren is seeking an organized self-directed individual to manage the day to day activities of a busy art studio. This includes working directly with Tabitha and galleries, collectors, museums and other exhibition spaces to complete tasks in a timely manner.

*Prior studio management and artwork handling experience is desired as is the ability to commit to at least two years in the job, ideally more. An interest in the arts - and not only photography - is also strongly encouraged.

*The job description can expand based on the applicants strengths (Adobe Photoshop CC, basic photo retouching, working with basic text and design elements, In Design, Illustrator, Premiere, Acrobat, Eye-One Color Management, Epson Large Format Printing – Canon IPF 6400, Camera formats: Canon, Hasselblad and Phase One, Capture One, Grip: general capacity to set up and break down sets, lights, photo gear, writing/posting for social media, Scanning: scan press, negatives, Website: update and maintain on Squarespace)

*Hours: 16-24 hours per week (2-3 days), starting September 1

*Location: East Bay / Berkeley

*Compensation to reflect experience


*Scheduling: exhibitions, production & shipping timelines, studio visits, & artwork installers, etc.

*Delegating tasks & overseeing production to keep large & small-scale projects on schedule/budget – ordering parts, vendor communication, accounts payable/receivable.

*Registrar/Preparator: preparing, packing, and shipping delicate artworks nationally & internationally to clients and exhibitions. Completing condition reports of of out- and in-bound artworks. Archiving artwork info in database, as well as physical archive of artwork parts.

*Shipping/Receiving: in addition to artworks, there is a constant flow of parts & orders coming in and going out of the studio via FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.

*Social media and website updating.

*Inventory: keeping accurate records (for internal & external purposes) & levels of items on hand - artworks, parts of artworks, crates, tools, etc.

*Records Management: lists of available & sold artworks, collector information, artwork database, artwork parts spreadsheets, exhibits, creating new archival/organizational systems as necessary.

*General IT troubleshooting is necessary to keep studio running smoothly.


*Ability to work under pressure & multitask

*Manage short-term and long-term scheduling & tasks and to be flexible when priorities suddenly change

*Highly organized & detail-oriented

*Professional, courteous, and clear communication skills (verbal & written)

*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.

*Prior registrar/preparator/artwork handling or similar experience a plus

*Prior management experience desired

*Extremely strong work ethic
