The Vice President of Development will oversee a comprehensive development strategy for the Woodruff Arts Center, including individual giving, foundation giving, planned giving, and the Woodruff Arts Center’s celebrated Annual Corporate Campaign. This leader will be responsible for a team generating over $15 million in annual operating revenues plus other long-term/multi-year fundraising efforts.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, with some evenings and weekends required as needed.
Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee Woodruff Arts Center’s efforts to secure contributed revenue from individuals, foundations and corporations.

  • Meet or exceed all annual and long-term fundraising goals for the organization

  • Effectively manage Development Operations function to ensure timely and accurate record keeping and acknowledgment of gifts.

  • Work collaboratively with and in support of volunteers and other staff to cultivate and solicit donors

  • Participate as a senior member of the Woodruff Arts Center’s Advancement team

  • Effectively manage, develop and coordinate the work of the Woodruff Art Center’s development team

  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Staff of the Arts Center and the Art Center’s Board

  • Represent the Woodruff Arts Center’s mission and the Arts Partner’s programs with donors and other stakeholders

  • Support Woodruff Arts Center Board Committees as assigned

  • Collaborate with the Center’s financial team to ensure proper accounting for all fundraising income and pledges

  • Prepare regular fundraising progress reports; report out on the Center’s contributed revenue progress as necessary

  • Represent the Woodruff Arts Center at various events and meetings as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred; or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 10 years Development experience; preferably experience in complex organizations and/or in the arts

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated success leading fundraising teams

  • Ability to cultivate and solicit individual, foundation and corporate contributions

  • Experience securing 5, 6 and 7-figure gifts

  • Knowledge of various constituency building techniques, including a focus on donor-centricity

  • Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously

  • Strong computer and technical skills (Microsoft Office and non-profit CRM)

  • Understanding of gift record-keeping practices and requirements

  • Ability to affect change and motivate employees and volunteers

  • Friendly and professional demeanor that engenders relationships with donors and colleagues
