The Arts in Education Coordinator should be an outgoing, creative individual with a strong attention to detail, possessing superior skills in writing and communications. We’re looking for a self-motivated, dynamic team player who is focused on enriching lifelong learning for students and seniors through arts experiences in school and community settings by using culturally responsive strategies.

The Arts in Education Coordinator is responsible for program administration, development, and management. This position includes, but is not limited to, programming and assessment, coordinating procedures and record-keeping to ensure smooth program execution and reporting, and assisting with the preparation of grant applications and reports.

Responsibilities
  • Process Teaching Artist residency paperwork and track Teaching Artist’s contact information, hiring status, and availability.

  • Develop and maintain electronic and paper filing system,

  • Maintain AIE Program Calendar and AIE Program Data, through database system.

  • With AIE team, develop program concepts; interact with school officials, teaching artists and AIE team members.

  • Order art supplies and maintain supply inventory.

  • Supervise Administration and Documentation Interns.

  • Brainstorm and implement new ways to streamline departmental procedures and information flow.

  • Participate in interdepartmental events and activities.

  • Assist AIE staff at professional development sessions, including orientations and workshops.

  • Represent BAC and its AIE program at public events.

  • Process payroll, invoices, check requests, coordinating documentation with AIE staff and fiscal department.

  • Participate in organization-wide activities as appropriate .

  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Education, or related field; or equivalent experience.

  • At least 2 years of professional experience.

  • Excellent written, oral communication, and social skills.

  • Strong computer skills and foundation in database platforms; facility with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, as well as Salesforce, Asana, Submittable, and Jotform,

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Experience with NYC public school system preferred.

  • Willingness to work evening and weekend hours, as needed.

  • Interest in contributing positively to the field of Arts Education.
