The MAK Center at the Schindler House seeks a highly organized, responsible team member with arts administration experience to assist the MAK Center Director and Program Manager in all tasks and projects that define the scope of the MAK Center’s activities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage office administrative duties such as greeting visitors, answering the phone, checking voicemail, seeing to mailings, website maintenance, calendar management, and general correspondence.

  • Manage membership and mailing list database. Oversee all mass mailings — event announcements, press releases, and membership.

  • Assist with the realization of exhibitions at the Schindler House, Mackey Apartments, and the Fitzpatrick-Leland House — schedule preparators, produce condition reports/ exhibition-related didactic material, and other project-specific tasks.

  • Assist with the realization of lectures, events, and fundraising activities.

  • Assist with grant applications — data entry, form preparation, and follow up, as required.

  • Work with press consultant to plan for and carry out marketing strategies, promote MAK Center programs, prepare and mail press materials to publicity resources, produce content and attend to various social media profiles.

  • Catalog and archive all press clips, coordinate photographers and organize exhibition images, prepare reports for annual board meetings.

  • On a daily basis, open up the Schindler House (835 N. Kings Road, West Hollywood) to the public, monitor exhibitions, bookstore sales and management, interact with visitors, and work with the staff to ensure the house is in a presentable state.

Requirements

Successful applicant must be self-motivated and able to contribute to a highly ambitious nonprofit office environment. Strong written, verbal, and visual skill are required with careful attention to detail. The applicant must be able to juggle a wide array of projects simultaneously and serve as a courteous representative to the public. Direct experience working for an arts organization preferred.

Experience with programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative suite is required. Working knowledge of digital imagery and graphics required. Facility with database management, such as FileMaker Pro, strongly desired.

This is a full time, non-exempt position with occasional evening and weekend hours. Salary commensurate with experience. Includes medical benefits.
