Educators will collaborate interdepartmentally to conceptualize, design and develop educational initiatives and in-gallery interactive components for museum exhibitions and the collection galleries; assist in curation and development of programming for The Lange Family Experiencenter, an internationally recognized hands-on gallery for all ages. Additional responsibilities include writing and editing education collateral material, working with the education department budget, assist in management and training of volunteers and interns, and supporting the museum’s curators in the creation of exhibitions, delivering tours and programs, and participating as an editor in museum communications.

Three (3) full-time regular salaried Educator positions are currently available and require a flexible schedule for regular office hours as well as additional hours to support and attend Museum related programs and events.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

• Master’s degree in art education (preferred), museum education, museum studies, or a related discipline.

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a museum environment; understanding of the role of education in a museum and best practices in the museum education field required.

• Classroom teaching and/or Museum education programming experience preferred.

• Equivalent experience will also be considered, if the applicant has at least three years in a full-time museum education position.

• Experience working with volunteer groups, program development, planning, implementation and management, working within budgets, along with an ability to meet deadlines are necessary.

• Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion. Experience with accessibility initiatives and programs, and experience working with visitors with diverse abilities a plus.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as the Internet for research.

• Proficiency with digital technology, new and emerging media, and current social media, mobile devices and other relevant media.
