Established artist studio in South Central Los Angeles seeks an experienced 3D Modeler & CNC Machinist based in Los Angeles. The successful candidate will be able to prioritize concurrent projects in a creative environment. The 3D Modeler & CNC Machinist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including artists, designers, carpenters, engineers, painters and sculptors. The candidate will work face to face due to the hands on and collaborative nature of the work.
This is a project based position for a 4 month term with the possibility of growth and additional work following the completion of the project.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
3D modeling, writing CNC toolpaths, and preparation of various shop drawings
Preparation of production files for CnC, 3D printing, and graphics
Operate and maintain CNC machinery
Ability to model using solids and closed polysurfaces
Experience with fundamental shop power tools, understanding of how things go together
Communicate with suppliers and help coordinate vendor communication with internal team
Project management and organization
Requirements
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience
Understanding of industry standards, 3D applications, and general workflows within Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
Desired but not required:
AutoCAD
Sketchup 3D modeling
Adobe AI, PS
Undergraduate degree in Design, Art, Industrial Design, Engineering or similar experience
