Sales Director

KÖNIG GALERIE is seeking a highly motivated and organized professional who wants to be part of an established contemporary art gallery in Berlin. The Sales Director is a full-time position and requires flexibility for additional hours based on the needs of the gallery. Candidates must possess proven relationships with clients, collectors and museums. We pay commission on top of fixed salary. This position is available immediately.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with artists, curators, institutions and collectors.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the gallery artists’ work and communicate this effectively to clients

  • Communicate consistently and proactively with the sales team to review offers, sales, and sales opportunities

  • Attend gallery openings, art fairs, and other events on behalf of the gallery

  • Inform clients of upcoming exhibitions and fair presentations, providing supporting materials as needed

Requirements
  • Extensive sales experience in a contemporary art gallery or auction house

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Including creation of press releases, catalogues, and art fairs applications.

  • Self-motivated, trustworthy, and responsible

  • Able to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
