The National Gallery is seeking an Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Projects to assist in the development and delivery of the National Gallery’s new Modern and Contemporary Program.

Responsibilities

Working with the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Projects and the Curator of Post-1800 Painting, the Associate Curator wants to be responsible for delivering the gallery’s ambitious new program of artist residencies, as well as assisting with the care, display, research, management and interpretation of the National Gallery’s historic collection. They want to have a special interest in a dialogue between contemporary practitioners, various audiences and the collection.

Requirements

The successful candidate wants to be a specialist in a relevant field of expertise, with a working experience in a collection institution. They will have exceptional public speaking skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from the general public to artists, peers, lenders, and supporters of the gallery.
