Foster + Partners is seeking an Architectural Technical Illustrator to work within the Communications department on creating drawings including cutaway illustrations, press plans and diagrams on complete and nearing finished projects. This position would suit a forward-thinking person also interested in developing skills further via new media.

Responsibilities
  • Production of full colour cutaway illustrations of key buildings.

  • Produce, edit and assist in the production of all diagrams and illustrations for use in online and print publications.

  • Re-purposing of architectural CAD drawings to presentation drawings for publication and press release use in conjunction with illustration team

  • Production of photo-retouching for marketing and publications.

  • Thorough knowledge of and compliance with F+P procedures and standards

  • To contribute, or otherwise assist as required.

This job description reflects the core activities of the role although there will be changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time. There is a requirement for the post holder to recognize this and adopt a flexible approach to work.

Requirements
  • Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities

  • Legally able to work in the country in which the position is based

  • Have an advanced proficiency in Autodesk 3dsmax, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.

  • Also advantages Keyshot 6, Adobe Indesign, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, PTGui, Pano2vr, Object 2vr.

  • Have experience in using Microstation V8 or a similar CAD program

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of constructing illustrations and diagrams from working drawings.

  • Have a good understanding of scale and compositional techniques relating to the virtual environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Be familiar with methods of image production, manipulation and printing processes.

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a range of people across the organisation.

  • Willingness to listen and learn new skills.

  • Able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently.

  • Able to work additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines

  • Resilient to cope with conflicting demands and able to prioritise duties and work under pressure.

  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team.

  • Flexible attitude.

  • Ability to work on a number of different tasks to agreed timescales.
