Linked by Air is seeking a Technology Director. In this role you will lead a team of four engineers and work closely with a team of five designers. You will help develop bespoke strategies and architectures in collaboration with our clients, many of whom are class-leading museums and cultural organizations. You will enhance Linked by Air’s own platform which extends across a significant part of our work. You will work with the team to develop strong practices around security, code quality, operations, and communication. This position combines hands-on and leadership skills, and includes a pathway for growth.

Position responsibilities:
Manage a small team of software engineers, including mentoring and code reviews
Promote and evolve sustainable engineering practices
Technical lead on client projects, consulting on system architecture and frameworks
Work with partner vendors on integration architecture and API requirements
Development lead on some client projects, as needed
Write well designed, testable, and efficient code
Debug and troubleshoot existing code
Assist with the maintenance, upgrading, and product development of our custom Ruby on Rails CMS (ecnmy.com)
Work within existing platforms and frameworks at certain client institutions, as well as in our own platform
Develop documentation and training practices for clients and internal use
Collaborate with designers and other team members
Participate in a community of practice with other technologists in the field (for example, occasionally attend or present at conferences)
Participate in teaching, learning, and knowledge transfer among colleagues. Be interested in learning and mastering new and emerging technologies and techniques.
Position requirements:
