Blum & Poe, Los Angeles seeks a Gallery Administrator to begin immediately.

  • Managing front of house and reception duties.

  • Greeting and interacting with the public.

  • Fielding and directing all incoming phone calls.

  • Providing general administrative support to gallery staff.

  • Distributing mail and managing outgoing packages.

  • Maintaining calendars, contact database, supplies, and correspondence.

  • Assisting with gallery events, including openings and private dinners.

  • Liaising with vendors to coordinate events and other gallery business.

  • Coordinating travel and accommodations.

  • Providing day-to-day executive assistance to owners and directors.

  • Arranging meals for owners, guests, and artists.

The position is full-time, with some evening and weekend commitments.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in art history or related field.

  • Extremely organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask. Able to attend to basic and complex tasks with equal diligence and attention.

  • Exceptional problem solving, negotiating, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong professional ethics, discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment.

  • Open-minded and creative, with the ability to enthuse colleagues and implement ideas.

  • Self-motivated with initiative.

  • Able to work well in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.

  • Reliable transportation and insurable driving record.

  • Accessibility and availability across multiple time zones.

  • Prior experience working in a contemporary art gallery, organization, or artist’s studio is required. Prior experience coordinating and planning events is preferred.

  • Knowledge of FileMaker Pro / Artbase, InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
