Marianne Boesky Gallery seeks a Marketing & Communications Coordinator for its Chelsea locations. Position is full-time Monday through Friday, from 10am to 6pm, plus openings, events and on call as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Marketing

  • Manage marketing initiatives for all gallery locations such as creating a communications calendar and strategy

  • Manage print, digital and social media advertising budgets

  • Create promotion schedule for all internal exhibitions and other artist projects, including email blasts, social media posts, website news updates and press releases

  • Write, design and distribute monthly newsletters and e-blasts

  • Manage gallery branding across all platforms both print and digital

  • Assist in art fair applications by writing booth descriptions and creating mockup

  • Manage design style guides for all digital exhibition previews and artist overviews

  • Create all creative content for social media and develop strategies to promote gallery artists, internal/external events, talks, workshops, and exhibitions

Press

  • Liaise with external PR agency, validate and handle press inquiries, manage media interviews, and organize press previews

  • Submit all online listings

  • Direct installation photography for press and social media purposes

  • Write press releases and subsequent communications materials

Events

  • Coordinate all gallery events including catering, staffing, video equipment, etc.

  • In house design of invitations, exhibition previews, and catalogs

Website Management

  • Write copy on artists and select images of work

  • Update the website as needed

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a background in art history, fine arts, graphic design, marketing, communications, or a similar field

  • At least three years of experience in a Marketing or Communications role in a comparable field

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Punctual, proactive, organized and detail oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills

  • Capacity to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work with others and independently when necessary

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites, Filemaker, Google Analytics, Microsoft Office, SEO, Social Media (Facebook and Instagram required). Experience with ArtBase, ArtBinder, Artnet and Artsy is a plus
