Olu & Company is a Black Led company deeply rooted in the mission to build and implement strategic plans that transform passion into action. Olu & Company is seeking a part-time Account Associate to provide administrative support for a dedicated Account Executive and his team. The position is hiring immediately for remote work. The position offers the opportunity for advancement and to be given progressive responsibility based on performance.

Qualities that will make for a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

Draft client bios, pitches and press releases

Draft marketing copy as needed

Research, develop and maintain media lists/databases

Read and monitor the media: track, clip, and share client press

Update media strategies: enter a high volume of data with accuracy

Create and update press kits with a strong sense of organization

Draft agendas for client calls; take notes on client calls and company meetings

Facilitate incoming press requests on behalf of clients

Create press clippings using CLP SRVR and Coverage Book, our press clipping tools

Arrange interviews, media appointments, and client meetings

Research, read, and synthesize a high volume of information from different sources in order to facilitate media outreach and strategy

Assist with drafting press materials including bios, fact sheets, etc.

Assist with event planning including organizing photography and caterers as well as preparing event materials like face pages and tip sheets

Attend client meetings and conference calls

Compose meeting minutes

Draft meeting agendas

Requirements

Knowledgeable, passionate and support of social change and the Black Lives Matter movement

You are proactive and have a strong attention to detail.

You are comfortable asking questions and for clarification when you do not understand.

You are capable of successfully balancing multiple projects with competing deadlines.

You are willing to go the extra mile to do a great job rather than a good job.

You are organized and efficient with your time.

You are an active consumer of media and have a strong grasp on the media landscape across a range of topics and issues.

You are proficient in in English as well as in MS Office,

You hold a college degree in any subject, preferably in the arts, humanities, journalism, or media studies

You have at least 1-2 years of experience (including internships), working in communications, public relations, or in an editorial position
