Job Description
Cadogan Tate is a global leader in fine art logistics, trusted by collectors, designers, galleries, and auction houses around the world. For over four decades, we have provided end-to-end logistics solutions — from secure transport and installation to storage and global shipping — all executed with discretion, precision, and craftsmanship.
As a key client partner, you will oversee logistics from initial consultation through project completion, ensuring that every interaction reflects Cadogan Tate’s world-class service. You’ll serve as both a relationship builder and project leader — balancing operational excellence, commercial awareness, and client satisfaction. This role is ideal for a strategic, client-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment managing high-value, complex projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5+ years of account management experience within fine art logistics, auction, design, or luxury services.
Proven record of managing complex, high-value client portfolios.
In-depth understanding of logistics operations, import/export compliance, and project costing.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Moveware or The Studio advantageous (training will be provided).
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, fostering long-term relationships built on trust, communication, and performance.
Understand each client’s business goals, aesthetic preferences, and operational needs to deliver tailored logistics solutions.
Anticipate client needs and proactively resolve issues to ensure seamless service delivery and satisfaction.
Represent Cadogan Tate at client meetings, site visits, industry events, and networking functions to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.
Project & Operations Leadership:
Lead the end-to-end management of domestic and international shipments — from proposal through completion — ensuring adherence to agreed budgets, timelines, and service levels.
Coordinate with internal teams (dispatch, operations, art handling, crating, storage, credit control, finance) to ensure all project components run smoothly.
Maintain clear communication with vendors and external partners to manage expectations, schedules, and logistics requirements.
Supervise the documentation process, including bills of lading, inventories, and insurance requirements.
Oversee the packing, transport, and installation process, ensuring the utmost care for valuable and irreplaceable objects.
Compliance & Documentation:
Prepare and manage all necessary customs and compliance documentation, including CITES, NOAA, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife permits.
Stay current on changes to international shipping regulations and advise clients accordingly.
Ensure all inventories, commercial invoices, and documentation align with legal and client-specific requirements.
Financial Management & Reporting:
Develop and issue accurate quotations and invoices, ensuring profitability targets are met.
Track project costs and margins throughout the lifecycle, making proactive adjustments to maintain efficiency.
Support senior management in achieving department and individual billing and revenue goals (monthly individual target: $80,000).
Prepare client and project performance reports as requested.
Business Development
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand existing client accounts and win new business.
Contribute to marketing and client engagement initiatives targeting growth sectors within the U.S. and abroad.
Provide input on pricing, service offerings, and operational strategies to enhance market competitiveness.
