Auction house seeks a smart, extremely detail oriented, discrete, hard-working individual for an entry level, full-time position. Excellent opportunity to learn the inner workings of a small auction house.
Position responsibilities include:
Providing support to administrative and executive staff
Managing database of clients and bidders
Answering phones and assisting clients
Executing copy and scanning requests
Taking and executing bids
Viewing assistance (security)
Phone bidding and bid-clerking during live auctions
Assisting with live internet bidding during auctions
Perform credit checks and registration for new clients
Assisting in packing, shipping and tracking of valuable/fragile items
Available to work overtime, if necessary
General office duties (ordering supplies, running errands, filing, etc.)
Tracking property through auction process
Catalog mailing
Skills and Requirements
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to take, follow, and retain instructions and office procedures and take initiative with problem solving
Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
Excellent phone, written and computer skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Art handling experience a plus
Knowledge of the art and/or collectibles market preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of general business principles a huge plus
Salary commensurate with experience.
