The Center for Fiction is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to support the Managing Director and the Executive Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working closely with the executive team to advance The Center’s mission, implementing the day-to-day administrative functions of a fast-paced office, overseeing space rentals, working with outside vendors and service providers related to the upkeep of the building, overseeing the work of office interns, ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, managing the organization’s overall calendar and internal communications.
The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, well-organized individual with good verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks, anticipate the needs of a busy staff, and work proactively to resolve a variety of issues. This is a good opportunity to launch a career in the nonprofit sector. A BA degree and strong knowledge of contemporary fiction is required.
This is a full time position in New York City in the borough of Brooklyn that includes a full benefit package.
