Alchemy is currently working alongside a prestigious art organisation in New York, who are seeking to hire a Fine Art Handler/Driver. This is an exciting, full-time position for an individual with previous Fine Art handling experience and a driving licence.
Responsibilities
Carry out the handling, movement and storage of fine art and antiques with a high level of care and skill.
Operate large trucks through NYC and the tri-state area.
Handle all art works with great care including packaging, loading and transporting the artwork.
Visiting high-end, esteemed clients to assist them with art installation.
De-installing art pieces.
Meet all deadlines for preparation of artworks for transportation and temporary exhibitions, including planning and communication with all shipping coordinators.
Preparing paperwork such as billing, labelling and condition reporting.
Store all artwork safely and securely within the warehouse.
Assist with construction with crates for artworks.
Perform any necessary ad-hoc duties.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience with art handling and installation.
Previous experience driving a truck is required.
Be willing to be in transport as part of the day to day role.
Possess a clean driving record.
Be comfortable working in a physically demanding role, carrying and lifting heavy objects.
Proficient in using a fork-lift.
Visual and audio skills are beneficial.
