Summary Statement:

Jackson Fine Art is seeking a candidate to assist the Registrar with care, database management, movement, documentation, and administration of artworks and inventory records. The successful applicant will work full time in fulfilling professional practices and care of artworks in a high paced and growing commercial gallery environment. This person will assist with key inventory based projects, as well as photograph artworks for client-facing presentations and assist the sales team in providing pertinent artwork information for primary and secondary market artworks.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a gallery or museum setting. Preferably, the candidate will have studied in photography, art history, and/or art object care. This is an excellent position for a passionate, flexible and project-oriented person who thrives in a rapidly expanding environment, and is willing to follow detailed directions at every step.

Responsibilities

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time, 40+ hours/week, Tuesday – Friday, 9 — 5:30pm, and Saturdays 9:30am — 5:00pm. In addition to the regular gallery hours outlined above, exhibition openings, public events, client visits, art fairs, and installations occasionally result in an extended work day or evening hours.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and database / CMS systems (art industry specific software, i.e. Artlogic, a plus)

  • Ability to lift minimum of 30 lbs.

  • Extremely detail-oriented and capable of taking responsibility for assigned tasks.

  • Able and willing to follow very detailed instructions.

  • Can maintain organized, non-cluttered work environment, and creatively adapt to space limitations.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Proficiency in Google platforms, Microsoft Office, and other standard office procedures and equipment.

Preferred:

  • Light carpentry and framing.
