LOCATION: South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane
SUMMARY: Nature & Science Auction Coordinator is responsible for processing incoming consignments of Natural History and Fine Minerals, organizing Lots by auction, researching and describing the material, assisting with answering inquiries, facilitating incoming and outgoing shipping, and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Unpack and process incoming consignments into the database
Research, identify and describe the property for catalog entries
Write condition reports and assist with client inquiries
Write informational reports from time to time
Actively participate in select previews and auctions
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 2+ years’ experience cataloging or writing detailed product descriptions
A proven track record of working with related property is a plus
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
Excellent research and writing skills
Attention to detail, from visual analysis of objects to review of catalog entries
Ability to multitask and prioritize duties with great attention to detail
Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills
Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Individuals must work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Some weekend hours and possible out of town travel, required
