JWDK is a brand design firm specialising in the creation of great place branding through China. We deliver strategic positioning, naming, brand design, environmental design and wayfinding systems for some of Asia’s most important property developments. We are seeking an ambitious Mid-Weight Brand Designer to join our team in the vibrant city of Shanghai.
Responsibilities
You will be designing:
Brands for places and destinations including mixed-use developments, heritage sites, new work places and small towns mainly for the China market
Environmental design including ambience ideas, experience design and wall murals
Designing of logos, VI systems, photography art direction and typography crafting
Designing of signage systems, place landmarks and art concepts
Proactive involvement in group concept brainstorming sessions, client workshops and research exercises
Requirements
Graphic design bachelor degree (international degree preferred)
Minimum 5 years design experience (property focus preferred)
Evidence of place brand design experience either in China or internationally
Fluent in English, knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is a bonus
Technically proficient with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)
Some knowledge of CAD or 3D software is appreciated as well as knowledge of sign-making materials
Strong communication skills, active thinker and team player with an innovative spirit and positive personality
Confident in nature and able to present ideas direct to client
