The Whitney is seeking an outgoing Member Services Assistant to assist with daily operations at the Member Services Desk, Membership Information Office, Museum lobby, and outdoor line canvassing posts. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to gain Museum fundraising and operations experience. The full-time Member Services Assistant will display leadership in the following areas: fundraising, customer service, and membership office operations. Successful candidates will offer a positive attitude; sincere enthusiasm for providing high-quality customer service; excellent communication skills; and a passion for non-profit fundraising.

Responsibilities
  • Greeting all Museum visitors and providing information about Membership

  • Enhancing member and visitor experience through superior customer service

  • Meeting sales goals by acquiring new members

  • Efficiently resolving routine customer service requests in-person, by phone, and by email

  • Canvassing indoor and outdoor admissions lines in all weather conditions

  • Adhering to all cash handling, ticketing, and database protocols

  • Assisting during evening membership events

Requirements
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, early and evening hours

  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional attitude

  • Excellent communication and listening skills

  • Minimum 1 year public-facing customer service experience required

  • Problem solver who works well under pressure

  • Previous POS and/or constituent database experience

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Previous team leadership experience preferred

  • Interest in visual arts and fundraising preferred
