We are looking for a precise, proactive, technically proficient and creative Graphic Designer to join our London team. The ideal candidate enjoys working within a fast-paced and dynamic environment and has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an equivalent role. Meticulous attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to prioritise a varied workload, strong interpersonal skills and experience of project management.
Design, artwork and oversee production of print and designed materials, including exhibition packs, announcement cards, leaflets and other ephemera
Work in collaboration with the Graphic Designer to support design projects from concept to delivery
Liaise with printers and other production companies
Ad hoc Design and Print Projects
Design and artwork dinner invitations, menus, events’ flyers, booklets, posters, packaging etc., adhering to the gallery’s corporate identity guidelines
Design and artwork materials in support of Hauser & Wirth Publishers
Create assets related to exhibition and way-finding signage, including digital screen templates, vinyl graphics and rub downs
Other ad hoc projects as required
Execute print projects in-house as needed
Art fairs
Design and production of highlight packs and artwork publications for allocated art fairs
Artwork and produce wall signage and labels for allocated art fairs
Digital
Create social media assets, including animated GIFs, as required
Assist with editing of video clips for social media, website and sales team
Edit, colour correct and reformat images using Adobe Photoshop
Support
Support wider UK team by acting as design support for the marketing & communications team members using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat and Illustrator
Provide creative input for marketing campaigns and assist with ideas for social media content
Participate in the day to day operations of the communications team
Liaise with the wider team re design projects
Print operations management:
Colour-managed workflow
Quality control
Pre-press proofing for print standards
Control stock levels, order print consumables
Cost reporting
Educated to degree level (BA required)
Professional qualification in Graphic Design
Excellent written and communication skills, as well as analytical organisational and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to both project manage and design
Strong interest in the art and ideally experience in the art and culture sector
A knowledge of the latest developments in typography
Excellent skills in Adobe CC2017/18, particularly Photoshop and InDesign (essential), working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mac OSX and Excel
Knowledge of digital best practice
Experience of working with art organisations and exhibitions is preferable
Additional languages are desirable, in particular: German, Chinese or Spanish
