Created in 2010, the Vincent Van Gogh Arles Foundation, recognized as a public utility, is dedicated to Van Gogh and his influence in contemporary creation. It is located in the centre of the old town of Arles in a 15th century private mansion converted into exhibition halls and other professional premises covering an area of approximately 2000 m2. The Foundation opened its doors in 2014, and offers temporary exhibitions of Van Gogh and contemporary artists as well as numerous cultural events and activities.
The Vincent van Gogh Arles Foundation is looking for a mediator.
Responsibilities
Under the authority of the artistic director and the pedagogical director, you will be in charge of implementing mediation in relation to the programming and towards large audiences, in particular the guided visits to the various groups of visitors (from kindergarten to adults) and the attendance at artistic practice workshops.
6-month fixed-term contract starting April 01, 2019.
Requirements
Successful experience in a similar position
In-depth knowledge of contemporary art and art history
Availability, autonomy and dynamism
Relational skills, a taste for transmission and exchange
Fluent English is essential.
