Communications Coordinator

Amant Foundation

We are looking for a Communications Coordinator to implement outreach strategies in support of our organizational goals and priorities. You will contribute to Amant’s print, digital, and online publishing activity by researching, writing, and editing content; managing project calendars; and ensuring deadlines are met. On a day-to-day basis, you will maintain institutional messaging, media relations, our website, e-communications, social media. You will work closely with both curatorial and administrative departments to enhance our visibility and grow our audience.

This position is part-time (30 hours) with an immediate start date.

  • In collaboration with the curatorial team, create, maintain, and deploy a master social media, marketing, and PR content calendar and related assets/tools.

  • Communicate information relating to Amant’s artistic program, residency and public events via social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Mailchimp.

  • Execute the creative vision and approach for content across all channels under the leadership of the Artistic Director.

  • Contribute to digital public programming related to editorial projects.

  • Help assess and grow Amant’s audience.

  • Ensure the visibility of Amant’s programs and publications.

  • Publish, schedule, and distribute all approved content.

  • Update the foundation’s list, directories, and calendar.

  • Sort mail, scan, copy and file documents.

  • Coordinate and create content for Amant’s website and digital platforms.

  • Draft graphic materials for exhibitions and events guidelines provided by outside graphic design firm.

  • Collaborates with external copyeditors, publishers, and others involved in the editorial process.

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in arts administration, museum studies, art history, cultural studies, studio art, integrative design or related field.

  • Demonstrated project management with at least 1-2 years of professional experience in an exhibition space, editorial project or in a similar communications role.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.

  • Ability to research answers and solve problems independently.

  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to adapt voice to various audiences and respond with efficiency and sensitivity.

  • Strong experience in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and computer-aided design software, as well as with social media platforms (Instagram, Mailchimp etc.)

  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish a plus.
