Apartamento Studios is a creative consultancy founded in 2017 by Nacho Alegre, Omar Sosa, and Marco Velardi.
With offices in Barcelona and New York City, the studio is the result of ten years’ worth of insights gained from working in the creative industries and publishing Apartamento magazine—widely recognized as today’s most influential, inspiring, and honest interiors magazine. We are currently looking to hire an experienced full-time graphic designer to join our team in New York City as soon as possible.
Reporting to one of the founders and creative director Omar Sosa, the graphic designer will be working on a wide range of print and digital projects. They will be responsible for working on a variety of visual design projects, including identity and branding assignments, graphic design for print and digital, as well as editorial design.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will need to speak fluent English, and have a demonstrable track record of exceptional work and be comfortable taking on projects from concept to delivery, combining strong creative ideas with excellent design skills to deliver stunning work that is both smart and accurate.
They will be required to work well autonomously as well as part of a team. Awareness of current creative trends and willingness to explore different design solutions, as well as an ability to conduct self-initiated research are fundamental for this position.
The candidate must have a keen eye for detail as well as excellent organisational skills, both digitally and within the office. These aspects will need to be complemented with outstanding problem solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
This is an ideal position for someone with at least 2/4 years experience working in a professional, deadline-driven environment looking to progress quickly.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
Excellent command of spoken and written English, good knowledge of Spanish and/or other languages welcome.
First-class working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge in Premier Pro and After Effects beneficial. Motion graphics knowledge welcome.
Sophisticated sense of typography and an understanding of its relevance to good design both online and offline.
Knowledge in project management and experience overseeing post-production, pre-press and press including retouching, color correction and file delivery.
Impeccable communications skills: writing, content development, presentation. Ability to clearly illustrate ideas and nurture the creative process from genesis to delivery.
Must be detail-oriented, deadline driven, and able to multi-task.
Excellent understanding of key social media platforms, with ability to quickly create digital content such as short videos or simple animations.
Good working knowledge of web design, HTML, Wordpress and ability work with web developers.
Passion for design, interiors and architecture and obviously an enthusiasm for Apartamento Magazine.
