Heritage Auctions is seeking an Asian Art Department Coordinator. The individual should be able to converse in English and Chinese. The role is involved in duties in Client Services, Operations, and Consignment Coordination, pre-sale and post-sale, including setting up bidding, helping with payment processing, arranging shipping, emailing Agreements, processing incoming consignments, explaining the auction process, addressing any unsold material, resolving client issues and concerns, and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answer and follow-up to ensure questions and concerns are resolved in a timely manner
Assist with incoming auction bids and client catalog orders
Document all communications and payment into the client database system
Assist with shipping arrangements where needed
Opening packages and processing incoming consignments accurately and efficiently
Arrange for the return of unoffered or unsold client material
Work closely with Department Specialists and Managers
Travel and assist at regional previews
Work extended hours where required
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree Completed or in process
Customer service experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Outlook and Excel
Must have excellent phone presence and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and pay great attention to detail
Must have a positive attitude with exceptional client service skills
Chinese Speaking Required
Multilingual is a plus.
