Dance/NYC is looking for a full-time Research and Advocacy Coordinator to oversee ongoing research and advocacy priorities, execute on planned programs, and identify and manage new opportunities under the direction of the Executive Director.

Ideal candidates will:
Have relevant prior development experience and be comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, CRM software, Zoom, and technological applications;
Be methodical and detail-oriented, with excellent planning and time management skills, and be able to advance multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines;
Have strong communication skills, especially writing skills, and will be current on and comfortably engage with emerging technologies; and
Be versed in the arts and culture landscape and will have a commitment to justice, equity, and inclusion.

Why are you interested in working as the Development Assistant at Dance/NYC?
The Research and Advocacy Coordinator will be called upon to work on a range of projects that require the ability to relate to different audiences, manage stakeholder relationships, and problem-solve in different contexts. For example, in a given day, you might need to prepare research data and interpret findings, draft and present testimony and/or appeal letters for relevant City Council hearings, or lead regular (virtual) meetings with the research team and designers. What relevant skills and experiences would you bring to this work?
What do you believe needs to be researched in the dance ecology? How would this data lead to systematic change?
What are two current advocacy related issues that are currently facing dance workers? How would you go about advocating for change of these issues?
