Development Coordinator
Corita Art Center
Position Summary
This position will report directly to the Director and will work alongside Corita Art Center (CAC) team members to
coordinate and develop philanthropic engagement in the name of Corita Kent’s legacy. As the Development Coordinator,
you can expect to cultivate and secure support for the Corita Art Center’s annual operations, with an emphasis on drafting
correspondence, conducting research, coordinating meetings and events, and communicating with community stakeholders.
This position will also be responsible for tracking pledges and gifts associated with CAC and acting as a liaison with other
departments as their activities relate to the support of the mission of CAC.
About the Corita Art Center
Corita Art Center, a project of the Immaculate Heart Community, preserves and promotes Corita Kent’s art, teaching, and
passion for social justice. Today, the Corita Art Center supports exhibition loans and public programs, oversees image and
merchandising rights, sells Corita’s original prints, and serves as a scholarly resource for her life and work. The Corita Art
Center currently houses the most comprehensive collection of Corita Kent’s serigraphs, watercolors, graphic commissions,
and archival materials.
Compensation
$60,000-$70,000 salary
Benefits - medical, vision and dental, FSA (Flexible Spending Account), EAP (Employee Assistance Program), life insurance
$50,000 for employee, sick and vacation time accrued as per policy, holidays per policy, 403b retirement plan (individual
plan - not matched by the organization), cell phone, and internet reimbursement.
Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Advancement
● Manage the research, solicitation, and support of writing of all grants, including private foundation grants,
Government grants, and corporate grants.
● Oversee the newly launched CAC Power Up! annual membership program with an emphasis on cultivating,
stewarding, and growing the Come Alive! Donor Circle.
● Create, manage and execute all mailings including year-end giving campaigns; membership renewals and
acquisitions; and acknowledgments of gifts.
● Expand engagement through community partners, affinity groups, and planned giving.
● Work closely with the Engagement Coordinator to identify community and corporate partners to support
programming at CAC. Maintain a nuanced understanding of sponsors’, chairs’, and major donors’ interests,
enthusiasms, connections, and relationships with the legacy of Corita Kent, in order to advance successful
relationships as well as longer-range engagement, cultivation, and stewardship with the philanthropic efforts of
CAC.
● Define quantitative performance metrics for membership and annual giving; track and report membership and
annual giving data and ensure that the programs meet annual revenue goals
● In partnership with the Engagement Coordinator, conceive, manage and evaluate the Corita Art Center’s
development events in order to create an engaging program of membership events that encourage members to
deepen their engagement with and support of the Corita Art Center.
● Lead tours for members and donors.
Administrative
● Process donations, as needed
● Maintain Donor database. Entering donation, correspondence, contact, and research notes.
● Assist with drafting email communications
● Tracking notes and action items from advancement meetings
● Reconciling donations with Finance monthly and assisting with Quickbooks coding weekly.
● Scheduling meetings as requested.
● Develop marketing materials for membership and solicitation materials as needed
● Assist with coordination of content creation and design for membership programming to develop strong points of
engagement
Secondary Responsibilities
● Perform general administrative duties such as filing, copying, running errands, and general data entry as it relates to
marketing, educational, programming, and website
● Complete special projects and basic research as assigned
● Complete all other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and skill required for the job.
Qualifications
Education, Training, and Traits:
● Bachelor’s degree
● Critical thinker who is highly organized and possesses strong analytical skills
● Comfortable working in a lean but efficient team
● Ability to influence and manage both internal and external partners timelines
● A strong ability to negotiate and source costing
● Knowledge and understanding of art history, design history, and arts education are a plus
● Highly fluent with technology and is a fast learner of new technology platforms
● Highly attentive to detail, able to work collaboratively, and knowledgeable about industry best practices
● Interest in visual art required
Work Experience:
● Minimum 3 years in a related position with increasing responsibility
● Required experience in fundraising in a non-profit arts organization, government relations, or equivalent
Licenses and Certifications:
● Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
● Ability to obtain a valid passport
Skills and Abilities:
● Proficiency in the use of MS Office software to include: Outlook, Word, Excel
● Proficiency in the use and practice of maintenance of donor databases and donor records
● Familiarity with current trends, issues, and best practices in the field of philanthropy in the visual arts.
● An intention to assist with the mission of CAC to serve a diverse range of audiences
● Excellent eye for detail. Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web. Superior
knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and other graphic design software a
plus.
● Experience producing effective digital marketing and advertising creatives that convert
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
● Strong organizational skills and analytical skills
● Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to accuracy and detail

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represent those that an employee must meet

- Physical Demands: In the work environment described below, the position requires good eye/hand coordination
and working at a desk and utilizing a computer for prolonged periods of time. The position also requires verbal
and written conversation with others, standing, climbing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting/moving objects up to 25
pounds.
- Work Environment: The majority of work will be performed in a hybrid model, an at-home environment, with
days required at the CAC offices. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Work
requires occasional independent travel to and from off-site meetings and events. Occasional weekend, evening,
and night work hours are also required. Immaculate Heart Community wants to ensure the health and safety of all
workers in the workplace and therefore follows local orders, state regulations, and guidance from government
agencies like the CDC, OSHA, EEOC, and local health authorities.
